2017 San Francisco International Rengay Competition

Rengay Submission Guidelines  (Judge:  Tanya McDonald)

All rengay must be titled. For two people (Poet A and Poet B) follow this linked format: 3 lines/Poet A, 2 lines/Poet B, 3/A, 3/B, 2/A, 3/B. For three poets (A, B, and C) the format is: 3 lines/A, 2 lines/B, 3 lines/C, 2/A, 3/B, 2/C. Type or print each rengay on three letter-size sheets. Include full authorship information, stanza by stanza, as well as all poets' names, addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses (optional) on one copy only. On the other two copies, mark stanzas with letters only (poet A, poet B, poet C) to indicate the sequence of authorship. The entry fee is $5.00 per rengay. The rengay judge will be announced later. Entry Fees
Make checks or money orders payable in U.S. dollars to "Haiku Poets of Northern California (HPNC)." Cash (in U.S. currency) is OK. Enclose a business-size SASE (U.S. first class postage or an IRC) for notification of contest winners. No entries will be returned, with the exception of late submissions, or those received without payment. These will be returned using your SASE; without an SASE these entries will be discarded.

15e concours de haikus de Taol kurun

Après le pied, la main, le coq, l’orage, la lumière, l'oiseau, le renard, le chant, le vent... c’est le chemin qui a été choisi cette année.
La règle est simple : chaque candidat(e) envoie trois haikus (poème d’origine japonaise, en trois vers de 5/7/5 pieds en principe, un instantané venant de l’observation directe suscitant une émotion, un tremblement infime du monde), en français, breton ou gallo avant le 1er janvier 2017.
Il sera publié en ligne sur le site du festival, et la remise des prix aura lieu lors du festival, courant janvier à Arzano. À vos claviers, stylos, plumes sergent Major !

• PARTICIPEZ !

Dans ce concours, chacun adoptera le formule de son choix : trois vers concis illustrant une image, une émotion, haiku de 5/7/5 pieds environ ou haiku libre, avec ou sans allusion saisonnière.


• LE THÈME
Le thème retenu pour la 15e année rejoint celui du chemin : rivières, sentiers, connexions, courants...

• CATÉGORIES
Trois catégories : les enfants jusqu'au CM2 et les collégiens, lycéens et les adultes, et trois langues : breton, français et gallo.

Les classes de la maternelle au lycée peuvent participer collectivement.
Chaque candidat pourra donc concourir dans l'une des catégories suivantes : Enfants en français, Collégiens et lycéens en français et Adultes en français.

• NOMBRE DE POÈMES
Chaque candidat doit concourir dans sa catégorie d'âge, et dans la ou les langues qu'il souhaite.
Dans chaque langue, les candidats peuvent envoyer un maximum de trois haikus.

• DATE LIMITE
Chaque candidat enverra ces haikus à partir du sitepar mail ou par la Poste avant le samedi 1er janvier 2017.

En cas d'envoi postal, les poèmes ne seront pas retournés à leurs auteurs.

• PROCLAMATION DES RÉSULTATS
La proclamation des résultats de ce concours se fera le samedi 23 janvier.

Le Prix Jocelyne Villeneuve 2017

Haiku Canada est très heureux d’annoncer la sixième édition du Prix Jocelyne Villeneuve pour le haïku francophone. Ce prix sera décerné en mémoire de Jocelyne Villeneuve (1941-1998), une des pionnières du haïku canadien-français. Ses haïkus ont paru dans diverses revues et anthologies au Canada, aux États-Unis et au Japon. Elle a publié les recueils: La Saison des papillons (Naaman, 1980), Feuilles volantes (Naaman, 1985) et Marigolds in Snow (Penumbra, 1993). Elle a laissé le recueil inédit Bagatelles.
Le premier prix est de 100 $CDN; le deuxième prix de 50 $CDN et le troisième prix, de 25 $CDN. Les compositions doivent être inédites. Elles ne doivent en aucun cas avoir été publiées ou soumises ailleurs.
Il n’y a aucun frais de participation.

Les soumissions devront être expédiées par courriel, et uniquement pendant la période de soumission qui s'étendra entre 1er janvier 2017 et le 28 février 2017. Les soumissions reçues avant ou après cette date ne seront pas lues.

O invitaţie la concurs de publicare în reviste de limbă franceză

Suite à un accord, les deux revues ont institué une convention qui permettra de publier les textes sélectionnés, chaque année en février dans un numéro commun.

The 5th Japan-Russia Haiku Contest

Akita International Haiku Network
INTRODUCTION


In 2012, the 1st Japan -Russia Haiku Contest was launched with the help of JAPAN CENTER IN VLADIVOSTOK as one of the links with the cultural exchange between Japan and Russia, wishing to provide an opportunity to mutually share haiku related to the theme of “the sea” (The Sea of Japan) which connects Japan and Russia.
The organizer hoped that the contest would serve as an opportunity to deepen mutual understanding among people, to promote the interaction of people’s views on Japan and Russia, as well as to convey the enjoyment of reading or composing haiku.
The organizer also hoped that it would serve as an opportunity to strengthen and develop the sister city relationship between Akita and Vladivostok, as well as to promote and increase cultural exchanges between Akita Prefecture and Primorsky Region.
The Akita International Haiku Network has held the Japan-Russia Haiku Contest since 2012, because the contests ended in a great success. In particular, in the 4th Japan-Russia Haiku Contest in 2015, more than1,000 haiku were submitted from over 50 countries.
In 2016, the organizer sincerely hopes that the 5th Japan-Russia haiku contest will flourish more worldwide, and that haiku can deepen mutual understanding and enjoyment of different cultures between those people who read or compose the poem.
As a result, the organizer wishes haiku could help make the world peaceful.

Yamadera Bashō Mermorial English Haiku Contest


Ambasada României – Tokyo  ne invită să participăm la un concurs de haiku.




Muzeul Memorial Yamadera Bashō anunţă organizarea celei de-a 8-a ediţii a Concursului de Haiku în limba engleză.

Cei interesaţi pot trimite până la 2 haiku-uri, în limba engleză. Sunt acceptate doar acele compoziţii care nu au fost deja publicate. Înscrierile pot fi făcute prin poştă, fax sau email, până în data de 4 iunie 2016.

Concours "Haïkus De Nuit"



A vos plumes, à vos claviers ! Du 1er février au 6 mars 2016, les médiathèques de Cergy vous proposent un concours de Häikus



A l’occasion du Printemps des poètes 2016, les médiathèques de Cergy vous invitent à déployer vos talents de poètes en vous exerçant au Haïku, et en participant aux concours "Haïkus De Nuit ", du 1er février au 6 mars 2016.



 

Living Haiku Anthology.



Entries of a maximum of two (2) haiku per person are invited for an adjudicated international haiku contest to mark the third anniversary of the Living Haiku Anthology.
No restrictions are placed on form, content and style however entrants are advised that the judges will be looking for evidence of poetic mastery and an appreciation of that which distinguishes haiku from any other short form of poetry.

Any haiku written in a language other than English should be accompanied by an English translation.

Over time the Living Haiku Anthology will continue to develop as the first stop venue for readers of the present (and the forseeable future) seeking to read what haiku are being written globally.
The winning haiku will be displayed on the home page of the Living Haiku Anthology as an exemplar of haiku being written in this second decade of the 21st century.
Entries (closing August 31 2016) will be accepted via email submission to poetryinsmallspaces [@] gmail [.] com (N.B. remove extra spaces and brackets). Haiku should be in standard text format within the body of the email (no attachments accepted).
First, second and third winning haiku and three (3) honorable mentions will be announced on September 27 2016.
Judging will be done in two stages.  In the first stage, the five judges will receive a blind copy of all entries received before the deadline and will select the ten haiku that each regards most favorably. 

The five first-stage judges are Alan Summers, Johannes S.H. Bjerg, Sheila Windsor, Greg Longenecker and Iliyana Stoyanova.
Their selections will be collected and passed to the final judging panel consisting of Michael Rehling, Jim Kacian and Michele Root-Bernstein.
The judge's decisions will be final and binding.  No correspondence will be entered into.

Contest judges and the LHA founders will not be eligible to enter the contest.

All entries must be the original work of the author and must not have been published or shared in any public venue or medium including Facebook, Twitter, personal blogs or websites.  Privately workshopped haiku are acceptable.

Golden Haiku Contest

Warm the Winter Landscape with Your Words.

Now through February 5, you are invited to submit a spring-themed haiku that will be judged by an expert panel, including:
  • Roberta Beary, haibun editor, Modern Haiku; author of The Unworn Necklace (Snapshot Press, 2007, reprinted 2015) a haiku collection and Deflection (Accents Publishing, 2015) a haibun collection.
  • Abigail Friedman, Founder and CEO of The Wisteria Group; author of The Haiku Apprentice: Memoirs of Writing Poetry in Japan (Stone Bridge Press, 2006); I Wait for the Moon: 100 Haiku of Momoko Kuroda (Stone Bridge Press, 2014); and Street Chatter Fading (Larkspur Press, 2015).
  • David McAleavey, professor of literature and creative writing at George Washington University; author of Huge Haiku (Chax Press, 2005, 315 pp.), the forthcoming Rock Taught (Broadkill River Press), and four other books of poetry.
Winning poems will be displayed along Golden Triangle sidewalks. The authors of the top three poems will receive these prizes:

Concours de haïkus « Les Jardins »


Ce concours de haïkus est organisé par Lirenval dans le cadre de son 16ème Salon du Livre.


Les haïkus proposés devront évoquer  le thème du Salon, celui du Jardin. Ils peuvent être accompagnés d’un dessin, d’une photo…



Comment participer ?    
·         tout  haïku proposé doit évoquer le thème du Jardin ;
·         le haïku doit être en langue française ;
·         il doit être signé (nom réel ou pseudonyme) ;
·         tout  participant s’engage à proposer des textes inédits et personnels ;
·         le nombre de haïkus par participant est limité à cinq ;
·         le concours comprend  deux catégories :


-          junior : moins de 18 ans (individuel ou scolaire)
-          adulte : plus de 18 ans.
